This American Black Walnut clock is unique in its ratio of sapwood to heartwood. Cut at an angle, it presents a distinctive contrast between its warm brown heartwood and light-colored sapwood. There are waves of heartwood echoing through the large creamy region of sapwood. Also seen are the intricate patterns created as the bark merges with the cambium layer. This piece's backside is just as beautiful and unique as its face.
 
This beautiful piece has been meticulously prepared and sanded to reveal its natural beauty before applying multiple coats of natural oil and polyurethane, then hand-polished to a satin finish.
